Élodie Brzustowski

Guitarist, lutenist, theorbist, Elodie Brzustowski now has over thirty strings to her bow! 

A firm believer in the benefits of playing multiple instruments, Elodie performs both as a soloist (Coria Guitar Festival in Spain, Paris International Guitar Festival, recitals organized by the Jeunes Talents association, and bedside concerts in hospitals) and in chamber music settings (a duo with soprano Elise Guignard; the Café 1830 duo featuring romantic guitar and historical clarinet). She also performs as a continuo player with larger ensembles, including the Royal Opera Orchestra of Versailles, Ensemble Correspondances, Les Folies Françoises, the English Baroque Soloists and Monteverdi Choir, Cappella Mediterranea (under Monica Pustilnik), and the Paris Chamber Orchestra (under Maxim Emelyanychev).

As a founding member of the ensemble La Mandorle, she participates in the European Union’s Sustainable-EEEmerging program (2024–2026), which supports young, emerging ensembles; this role has taken her across Europe with her theorbo to venues and festivals such as the Göttingen Handel Festival (Germany), Torroella Festival (Spain), GhislieriMusica (Italy), and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra (Finland). In 2025, La Mandorle won both the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Göttingen International Handel Competition and was a finalist in the York International Competition in 2026.

She also takes part in various projects combining music and theater, such as You will love me (a show by François Gardeil premiered in 2022) and L’Apprenti Sorcier (a show for young audiences created in 2024 with puppeteers from the Métaphore company).

Supported by the Safran Foundation for Music, she is set to release her debut solo album in January 2026 on the Paraty label, featuring forgotten works from the 1830s performed on the romantic guitar. The CD Paris-Bruxelles, 1830 has garnered critical acclaim and was awarded the « Diapason Découverte » by Diapason magazine in April 2026.

A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (holding a Master’s degree in classical guitar, earned in 2024 under Tristan Manoukian, and a Master’s degree in lute, theorbo, and basso continuo, earned in 2025 under Monica Pustilnik), she also holds the State Diploma for guitar and lute. Since 2021, she has taught lute and sight-reading at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Rueil-Malmaison (Paris region).
